Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow,
And everywhere that Mary went
That lamb was sure to go;
Translation : मेरी के पास एक छोटा मेमना था, उसका ऊन बर्फ की तरह सफेद था, और हर जगह जहां मैरी जाती थी, उस मेमने का जाना निश्चित था |
He followed her to school one day
That was against the rule,
It made the children laugh and play,
To see a lamb at school.
Translation : एक दिन वह उसके पीछे स्कूल गया, यह नियम के विरुद्ध था, इसको स्कूल में देखकर बच्चे खूब हँसे और उसके साथ खेला|
And so the teacher turned him out,
But still he lingered near,
And waited patiently about,
Till Mary did appear,
Translation : और इसलिए शिक्षक ने उसे बाहर कर दिया | लेकिन फिर भी मेमना वहीं पड़ा रहा और धैर्यपूर्वक प्रतीक्षा की,जब तक कि मैरी आ नहीं गई |
And then he ran to her, and laid
His head upon her arm,
As if he said- “I’m not afraid –
You’ll keep me from all harm.”
Translation : तब मेमना दौड़कर मैरी के पास गया, और अपना सिर उसकी बांह पर रखकर लेट गया , मानो उससे कह रहा हो- “मुझे कोई डर नहीं है – तुम मुझे हर तरह के नुकसान से बचाओगी।”
